Please be advised that due to the impending extreme heat, Mayor Brian P. Stack has announced the opening of a cooling center in Union City for residents seeking shelter from the heat in the coming days. Thank you for taking the time to read the announcement.

Please be advised the Graduation Ceremony for the Emerson Middle School is scheduled for Thursday June 25, 2026 at 9:00AM. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Due to the scheduled FIFA match at MetLife Stadium on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, and the projected extreme traffic congestion throughout Union City and the Meadowlands area, all Union City Schools will observe an early dismissal at 12:45PM.

Please be advised as per Union City Mayor Brian Stack and the Board of Commissioners in collaboration with the Cedar Stars Academy and the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, the Union City Board of Education would like to invite everyone to the 2026 Union City Soccer Festival on Saturday June 13, 2026 from 11:00AM-7:00PM. On June 12, 2026, the Emerson Middle School hosted a parent breakfast presented by the Centro Comunitario (CEUS) called: "Guiding Families Through Difficult Situations." CEUS is committed to strengthening and empowering the Hispanic immigrant community in New Jersey.

On Thursday June 11, 2026, we congratulated our 7th and 8th Grade "Top 10 Students" for their outstanding academic achievement! Their hard work, positive attitude, and determination have earned them this well-deserved recognition. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing their continued success in the years ahead.

Union City's 21st CCLC Program & the Union City Education Association proudly sponsored Emerson’s #CafeConArte (Arts Horizons) Parent Workshop, coordinated by Barbara Martinez, Parent Liaison.

On Thursday May 7, 2026, Emerson Middle School students participated in the Spring Visual And Performing Arts (VAPA) Concert. The theme for the school year was Pop Rocks. It was an incredible experience for everyone involved.
