Parents / Guardians,
In order to prepare for a safe return to school on Tuesday, January 18th, we are asking that each parent/guardian stop by Emerson Middle school on the following days and times to retrieve a FREE at-home COVID 19 testing kit. Parents can pick up a kit on the following days and times at the main entrance located at 318 18th Street:
Grade 6: Friday, January 14th from 3:00 pm-8:00 pm
Grade 7: Saturday, January 15th from 10:00 am-4:00 pm
Grade 8: Monday, January 17th from 8:00 am-3:00 pm
Please have your student ID number with you so that we can distribute each test to the respective parent or guardian picking up the testing kit. Also, our Emerson Website and the district website will have directions on how to use the at-home test posted for you to review. We are asking that each student utilize this test prior to attending school on Tuesday, January 18th. Please use one of the tests in the kits to test your child Monday evening, so that we can ensure a safe return to school for all of our students. After testing your child, if you notice that the test is positive, we are requesting that you take a picture of the test, call our school nurse at 201-348-5900 Ext. 81620 and advise her of the positive test result, and please keep your child home next week. If your child tests negative, please send them to school on Tuesday, January 18th. Just as a reminder, if your child feels ill, please keep them home, and if a family member at home has tested positive for COVID 19, please keep your child home and call the nurse to advise her of the absence.
